How early can I show up to park, even if I do not plan to drink. Lot's will open to the public 6 hours prior to game kickoff, but in no event earlier than 7 am. Please take note that the U of O changes kick off times and the lot openings will be adjusted accordingly. You must still abide by the Eugene City Ordinance 20597 & 20392, which amended Eugene City Code 4.190 which states consumption of alcohol may not commence until 6 hours prior to kick off and must end at the conclusion of the game. RVs can show up at 6pm the day before the game and stay until Sunday at noon. Back to Top |
Can I show up the night before the game and set up camp? No. Overnight camping is not allowed, except for RV's and RV Autos; other vehicles will be towed. Back to Top |

What happens if someone becomes drunk or disorderly? Persons that become drunk or disorderly, pick fights, urinate in public, etc., will be asked to leave and their parking privileges revoked for the season (with no refund). We will not hesitate to call the police to help take care of problems like this. Back to Top |
Do you have security in the parking lots? Yes we do. We have a combination of volunteers and the Lane County Sheriff and local Reserves on the lots before, during and after the game. We also rent portable light units for the night games. However, we can not be responsible for vehicle break-ins, damage to your vehicles, or theft of tailgating equipment left unattended. Please do not leave valuables out when you are not there. Back to Top |
Do I really have to wait until 4 hours before the kick off time to start drinking alcohol? Yes. Drinking alcohol is generally prohibitted in public areas without a special license or permit. Eugene Ordinance 20392, which amended Eugene City Code 4.190, allows for an exemption on the lots surrounding Autzen stadium on game days, starting 6 hours prior to kick off, and ending at the completion of the football game. Troop 100 has applied for and received the exemption for our lots. This exemption is only for the parking areas and not for MLK Blvd or the sidewalks along MLK Blvd. Back to Top |
So I have to stop drinking alcohol as soon as the game ends? Yes, Eugene City Code 4.190. Back to Top |
Can I have open fires or use charcoal briquettes? No, due to the fire danger around a large number of parked vehicles and the problems involved with disposing of the ashes, the property owners have asked us to not allow this practice. Properly supervised propane grills that are off the ground are allowed. Open fires or fires on the ground are not allowed. Back to Top |
How long does it take to get out after the game? That depends on the game. A close game usually means everyone stays until the end, and those games always take longer to get out. Remember that it is not just our lots trying to enter MLK Blvd. The Autzen lots, the old National Guard Armory lot, Masonic lodge, Science Factory, and all of the others are trying to get out onto the same road. And they are all trying to get out at the same time. Sometimes it could take up to 2 hours to get out after a sold out, close game. Please note that for Civil War games the time to exit the lot may be as much as 1 hour longer due the number of people trying to access I-5 northbound. Back to Top |
Can I jump the curb to get out faster after the game? No, that is illegal. The Eugene police will give out tickets for this and we will revoke your parking privileges for the season. Back to Top |
Can't you do something to get me out faster after the game? We have secured a "No Parking" permit and an after game traffic revision for Scout Access Road. This allows us to have 2 lanes heading out after the game. We also have volunteers and paid security staff directing traffic onto Scout Access Road, while the police direct traffic at the corner of Scout Access Road and MLK Jr. Blvd. Back to Top |
I want to tailgate with my friends. Can I save a spot for them? No. For game day parkers, it is first come - first served. We suggest meeting someplace close by and then proceeding to the parking lots together. You may purchase season reserved spaces next to each other. Back to Top |
Can I use my tailgating space to sell merchandise or food? No. Our contract with Lane County specifically prohibits that on the LCMH and DYS lots. On the BSA lot, the Oregon Trail Council has reserved that opportunity for Scouting units only. Back to Top |
Do you have toilet facilities? Yes, we have portable toilets stationed on all 3 lots. They will be unlocked on game day when the lots open. They will be locked one hour after the completion of the game. Back to Top |
If the Boy Scout office, the Department of Youth Services, and/or the Lane County Mental health buildings are open for business, then what time can we arrive for the weekday games? Check the website's home page "Parking Update" for information when there is a weekday game posted. Back to Top |
Who gets the parking money? Lane County gets 50% of the parking fees from the LCMH, DYS and ARM lots which it uses to support staff at the County operations sited with the parking lots. Some of the parking fees pay for expenses; the balance supports summer camperships for scouts who need financial assistance to attend camp and the many Scout Troops and other youth groups that work to make your experience a memorable one. What do the Scout units use their share of the parking money for? The Scout units will use their share of the proceeds to fund the Scouting program in their units.
